Lama Mitchell and Lama Adam will be moderating a book discussion group via Zoom for the Columbus KTC Meditation Center Jan. 26, Feb 2, 16, 23, and March 2, 2022.
In How to Meditate, Pema Chödrön “presents her first book exploring in depth what she considers the essentials of lifelong practice.”
This book is rich with practical methods we can apply throughout our daily life, and is written in simple language for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Methods for basic sitting meditation (shamata) are taught, as well as adaptations that can help us expand our practice to include nearly any situation.
Each one-and-a-half hour session will include brief presentations on the week’s chapters by hosts Lama Adam and Lama Mitchell, followed by moderated discussion, with short periods of meditation throughout.
Each week’s reading can usually be completed in just a few hours, with the first week’s reading being a bit longer than the rest. It is recommended that everyone complete each week’s reading before the class, but not required.
Beginners and all others are welcome for this program. No need to have any previous experience to join us, just a desire to supportively engage in discussion and practice with others.
